***This WILL be sold by DECEMBER 31ST***SOLD MY AMP SO IT'S TIME TO GO***  Aesthetix Janus Standard preamplifier being offered for sale.  The Janus is a full function all-tube preamplifier with six line level inputs(6@ balanced and single-ended) and one phono input. The Janus combines Aesthetix’ Calypso line stage with a scaled down Rhea phono stage in a single chassis. I bought it from a fellow Audiogon member a number of years ago after owning many quality preamps including Spectral, Lamm, and Jeff Rowland. Some were full function while others required the addition of a separate phono preamp. I came to the conclusion that the right single chassis unit could offer most everything that I needed to play vinyl as well as cd’s. There are very few preamps that offer the flexibility that the Janus offers. To begin with, it has a phenomenal build quality and is manufactured by a long term successful and progressive audio company that supports their products for as long as you care to own them. They even offer upgrade paths for most all of their products so you can take them to what ever level of performance you desire. I had a new power supply board installed a couple of years ago and at the same time I had the techs at Aesthetix check it over completely and they also replaced a couple of weak tubes in the line section and gave it a clean bill of health. I bought some NOS tubes that Andy at Vintage Tube Services recommended to install in the phono section a while ago and they still have plenty of life left in them. The high quality phono section of the Janus has more than enough gain and load options to easily drive my 0.3mv Koetsu Rosewood cartridge. I am currently running the Janus into my Boulder 1060(300 watts A/B) resulting in a successful marriage of tube and solid state that reproduces beautiful music. I am considering moving to a very high-quality integrated amplifier w/phono that hopefully I’ll be satisfied with as a replacement. It will be shipped in its' original factory packaging, remote control, and power cord. I’ll also include a copy of the owner’s manual, which I downloaded from Aesthetix’ website.
