Sound purity, endless power, outstanding design, unmatched build quality
~ This is AELIUS II power amplifier ~

Our dear client made some changes to his system which gives you the opportunity to transform your system as well.
AND, he is now ready to purchase a Trinnov Altitude16 to create an immersive home theater with ...

SO, we lowered the price a bit to help you get an even better deal and for him to get the funds flowing towards his new theater.

If you are ready for an audio upgrade to your listening room or for an audio video upgrade to your theater, please do reach out to us and give us the opportunity to serve you and your audiophile dreams.

The Aelius II amplifiers have helped us win Best of Sound and a variety of accolades at Trade Shows over the years, we are grateful to be able to offer these monoblocks up to the AudiogoN collective.

May these amazing Aelius II amps find the perfect next system to call home.

This is a picture of a variation of our client’s system with a Ypsilon trio assisting the music in his life - below his turntable is the PST 100 MkII Preamplifier, then a VPS 100 Phono Preamp, flanked by a pair of the Aelius II amplifiers. While he was making changes to his system he also upgraded to the Silver Edition VPS 100 and a fellow Audiogoner is reaping the benefits of having a lightly used VPS 100 in his system... will you be the next to benefit from a lightly used Ypsilon being offered up here on Audiogon?

If you are new to this brand, you may be interested in learning that Ypsilon Electronics was founded in Greece in 1995 with the single-minded purpose of recreating live music with passion and perfection. Extensive experience with live music and over 10 years of research and innovation lead to new design concepts and advanced component technologies with unsurpassed results.
Ypsilon has many qualities we admire, the least of which is that every piece of Ypsilon gear is personally tested by their founder and CEO before it ships out. He listens to it carefully. If something doesn’t meet his standards, he rebuilds it. We know of no other company that pays this much care to what they are doing. And the results are simply magical.
The Aelius IIs are just exceptional amps and are capable of driving even the most difficult speakers with ease, 1 ohm impedance loads are no problem at all. Their ability to deliver music with a Live Performance feeling has truly been a blessing to us over this last year. Please reach out to us if you are ready to have the magic of Ypsilon in your system.

AELIUS II Push Pull Hybrid Monoblock Power Amplifier Specifications Include the following

Greece does have some regulations on their tube composition, so Ypsilon cannot use the well regarded NOS Mullard rectifiers in the initial build, but they do know that a lot of enthusiasts will change out the tubes, which was done for this pair of monoblocks. We were able to send Ypsilon Synergistic Research top of the line fuses and they built and tuned this pair and our pair with them instead of the stock fuses. These simple additions support the Aelius IIs to provide even more seamlessly, musical amplification. Here is a "spin through" of the first of the Aelius IIs up for sale in this listing:

While the Aelius II amplifiers include improvements to the original Aelius, the foundations which made Michael Fremer report the following, remain intact:
"The Aelius amps were just right if you like a tight, fast, nimble top-to-bottom ride, if you like sounds so transparent it’s almost alarming, convincingly yet not analytically precise transients, and three-dimensional imaging—all without paying the high price of too-sharply-defined edges or a clinical, soulless, harmonically bleached sound.
"The Aelius is yet another spectacular sonic and technological achievement from Ypsilon Electronics. I remain impressed by everything they do.
" ~Michael Fremer

This is a "spin through" of the second of the Aelius IIs up for sale in this listing:

This single owner pair of Aelius II amplifiers have been well cared for and appreciated for around 2200 hours, in a smoke and pet free household. Being lightly used as these have been is a great thing! This means that when you receive these amplifiers, you won't have to break them in. The only thing you will have to adjust to is how good your system sounds!!!!
All Ypsilon Electronics come with a five year warranty and this pair began it’s in September 2017. We have clients who have had there Ypsilon gear for over 10 years and we have never, knock on wood, had to do more than replace a fuse. And, if any need should arise, we will do our best to make the arrangements and connections necessary for you and your equipment to be taken care of.

Here is some of how Ypsilon founder and CEO Demetris Backlavas describes the design of the Aelius II’s and the substantial upgrade they represent over the original model.

"Aelius II is a push-pull hybrid monoblock power amplifier using only two gain stages with no overall feedback, providing power to drive real world speakers with unmatched transparency and musical involvement.

"The first gain stage is implemented with a tube, operated in single-ended class A, transformer coupled to the output stage. By using a transformer we avoid using an additional gain stage, so transparency and purity of the signal is preserved.

"For this purpose a wide bandwidth (10-75 KHz) transformer is made, developed under extensive listening tests and measurements. The bandwidth of the transformer defines also that of the amplifier.

"In Aelius II, a recently developed input transformer is added that extends the purity of the signal path even further. It also gives the opportunity of a balanced input in the amplifier, adding versatility of using longer interconnect cables.

"The output stage uses components of the same polarity (N-channel), working in the same topology. The output of the amplifier is symmetrical so both output connectors, plus, minus, carry signal in opposite phase.

"Great attention was paid also in the power supply design. It uses high current inductors for smooth and quiet filtering.

"Aelius II is most certainly a revolutionary product having a unique set of features, refinement and transparency, sound purity, endless power, outstanding design, unmatched build quality."

We know that buying electronics on line, especially used, is a leap of faith and here at the High End Zone we do our best to ensure that you can trust us as you leap. To this point, we not only thoroughly test each piece, we pay extra close attention to the aesthetics of the gear we sell. Not everyone would point out the things that we do - they are small and hard to photograph - but because I notice them, I want to be able to show them to you.
We have already shared three pictures which include the front faceplate of one of the monoblocks and you probably did not even notice that it has a small nick in it... there it is again for your inspection...
If you zoom in on the above picture, you may notice that there is a small knick in the lower left corner area. Can’t see it ? - well you are not going to notice it while you are listening to your music.
Here it is with a photographed closeup - the lens was less than an inch away.
Even that close, it is barely noticeable.
On the top of this amplifier, near the back center, there is also an area where the anodization seems to have been smeared? Again, Stef could not even see it when I asked him about it, but I did - so here it is...

The Aelius II amps will ship to you in the original wooden crates, on a pallet via Freight. When the crates got here, they showed a little mishandling by FedEx, which gratefully only turned out to have an affect on one of the crates and not the amplifiers at all. We thoroughly tested the Aelius II’s multiple times and ways - each time they performed as well as our in house pair. They were shipped fully insured and we would have filed a claim if we found anything off. We will have the one side of one crate repaired before shipping them to you.

One of the wonders of AudiogoN is that we all have more opportunities to try high end electronics at prices that are easier to afford. Most used gear has a mark here or there, I share the marks I see so that you won’t be surprised. Regardless of the marks, these amplifiers remain impressive and beyond capable of delivering music to fill your life.

"The Aelius is yet another spectacular sonic and technological achievement from Ypsilon Electronics. I remain impressed by everything they do." ~ Michael Fremer
