This used Joule-Electra LA-150MKII preamp is in excellent condition. Its a one owner unit which was made/bought in 2012 (which likely makes it one of the later/last samples of these preamp as Jud Barber retired and shunt down Joule-Electra around 2013). This preamp is complete with manual, remote, and facotry box. I have given the preamp a through check-up: test all tubes, check gain, operation of power supplies, set operating point and DC tube filament supply settings, fixed the somewhat loose power/standby/operate switch (a common problem on these preamp which I have a permanent fix for so the control will not get loose or spin ever again), etc. All tubes inside are in excellent shape (no Russian tubes in this preamp - all NOS USA made stuff). Cosmetically it is in excellent condition. The high gloss black lexan faceplate on these do tend to get some fine swirl marks just form use/operation, so if you reflect a light just right off the faceplate you can see some of that so I am giving the preamp a 8/10 rating.Retail new, these preamps were $5,250 when new and you can get this fine sample for just $2,250 plus shipping. These are subperb sounding tube preamps which have a nice touch of warmth/body and very good soundstage and imaging.
Why buy a used Joule Preamp from a company that is no longer in business from me? I have extensive knowledge of the design and operation of these preamps and am basically considered the "go to" guy for  Joule-Electra information, service, support, upgrade etc. So, while Joule-Electra may no longer be around - I am here to help you if needed.
What's with the extra set of RCA Jacks in between the CD and AUX1 inputs??? They are actually wired to (in parallel with) the AUX1 input.... which on Joule LAP series preamps (i.e.line stage preamp with optional on board OPS-1 phono preamp) is the input to the phono stage and the extra set of RCA jacks in parallel are used for loading plugs. Jud Barber apparently used a rear panel for a LAP-150MKII to make this LA-150 Line stage. Why??? Wild ass guess is that Jud had this rear panel built before the order for this preamp came in and to speed production used it to make a Line Stage. Will it effect anything??? No. I'll put a pair of Cardas RCA caps on the extra RCA's so you don't accidentally plug anything into them.
