Balanced Audio Technology VK-3000SE

Balanced Audio Technology (BAT) VK-3000SE hybrid integrated amplifier.  Original owner.  Serial # 03X020521.  Purchased new from Upscale Audio (Kevin Deal) in CA - an authorized dealer.  

The tube pre-amp section uses two (one per channel) 6H30 tubes.  Solid-state power amp section delivers 150 watts/channel into 8 ohms and 300 watts/channel into 4 ohms.  Five inputs including two balanced inputs.    

Warm, detailed sound and accurate timbre.  Well-built integrated with high-quality parts.  The paper-in-oil capacitors produce a sound which approaches the warmth of tube amps and greatly reduce sibilance especially with digital sources.  A laddered resistor network (instead of a chip) controls the volume.  A big toroidal transformer supplies power and current for deep, punchy bass.  Overall, the rich, relaxed sound affords opportunities for long, enjoyable listening sessions.  Ran the BAT with both Sonus Faber Olympica Nova II and Wharfedale Denton speakers.  Each pair of speakers requires substantial power and current for optimal performance; the BAT drove each pair well. 

Bonus:  I've put two (one pair) brand-new, platinum-grade, cryogenically-treated, electro-harmonix 6H30 tubes with gold-plated pins in the box.  The tubes were bought in Feb., 2022 from Upscale Audio and are still in original boxes.  This is a $170 value.
 
Rated 8/10 because there is a 1/4" scratch on the right, side panel.  Includes aluminum remote control, manual and power cord.  Will ship with original box and foam packaging and double-boxed with an outer shipping box.
