I have owned and loved Apogee loudspeakers throughout my serious listening career, some 45+ years now, and despite flirtations with other planars and electrostats (and yes, even the odd dynamics), they have been and are my first love.

Many consider the Duetta Signatures to be the pinnacle of Apogee listening, given their balanced and relatively straightforward design (a dedicated bass  panel and a MR/T  ribbon) and relatively friendly impedance load, and they have been my favorite among the Apogees I have owned (everything from Centaurs to Scintillas). And this pair is particularly splendid. I scored them from this ad (
https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649777634-apogee-duetta-signature-speakers/), driving 200+ miles each way to audition and purchased  them approximately a year ago, and have had nothing but joyous and trouble-free listening since then.

The speakers were apparently very lightly used and pampered, and spent much of their lives in storage prior to my purchase. They have no significant dings or dents in the gorgeous anthracite frames or aluminum feet, and the panels are wrinkle- and dimple- free. In my pre-purchase inspection I found no evidence of dust or other foam residue such as to indicate decay, and during intense bass passages (such as “Way Down Deep” from Jennifer Warnes’ “Hunter”…yes, I’m an old-timer) there was no rattling or buzzing or kazooing or other signs of impending bass panel decay. And of course the MR/T ribbon is wonderful, dancing blissfully on loud passages as it should but with no signs of excessive excursion or other misbehavior. The speakers are as close to perfect as any Apogees I’ve ever owned, and lacking abuse or damage I have every confidence that they will continue to provide an impeccable listening experience for many years to come.

The bass is deep and tight and powerful, the mids rich and present and balanced, and the highs exceptionally sparkling and faithful to the source without being etched or fatiguing. They are, in a word, just as good as the reviews would indicate.

The built-in passive crossover features the original high-quality components, and functions perfectly.

Why am I selling? Downsizing, of course, and the usual life-phase stuff that invites us to surrender gracefully what no longer pertains. Oh well. It happens. Life.

I am selling the speakers for exactly what I paid for them, and based on recent sales of comparable speakers they are a great bargain at that prize.

No boxing, no crating, no shipping… I have done that before, and it is more risk than it is worth for these fragile speakers…so local pick-up only. The speakers (as you’ll see and hear in today's YouTube videos here: https://youtu.be/ReHU5_21tRM and https://youtu.be/OlsbwYj5uHY) are set up and ready to go, and I would welcome audition or lacking that a nearby (within reason) meet-up.

Happy listening, everybody, and I hope these rare and precious and exceptionally cared-for speakers find their next appreciative home.
