Dropped the price $200. Purchased Nov 2013. Panasonic’s top of the line and last plasma TV produced. At the time, considered equal to or better than the Pioneer Kuro plasma that was on the top pedestal for years. Today’s leading TV platform is OLED based on true blacks, dynamic range, color, and overall picture quality. LED TVs excel with brightness in daylit rooms. This plasma virtually matches OLED true blacks, much better than standard LED TVs. Black level is considered the most important component to picture quality, setting up contrast and dynamic range. This TV also has no apparent blooming (ie, often seen as fuzziness around edges of bright letters). Its colors really pop. Unless you sit closer than 6 feet from the screen, you’ll be hard pressed to feel left out by its being 1080p rather than 4K. Plasma TVs have refresh rates at 600 Hz, vs better LED TVs at 120 Hz or 240 Hz. This makes plasma better for sports movement and object tracking.
Built in apps are limited. We have driven it via Comcast, Apple TV, Amazon TV and the Nvidia Shield over the years. Will include the NVIDIA Shield if needed. Built in speakers are ok. We have run audio through a home theater system much of the time.
Condition of TV is excellent. Plasma lifespans are estimated at 30-60,000 hours. This TV has less than 9500 hours recorded. TV has been setup based on published calibration settings.
