I bought this VPI industries HW 16.5 record cleaning machine brand new and for full price at audio consultants on Davis Street in Evanston in the early 2000s. If I’m able to locate my purchase receipt, the owners manual, and the original box I will amend this listing.

My only comment about the machine is that it is an over built workhorse that does exactly what it is intended to do. Other than that I’ll just say that I agree with the many articles praising the quality and performance of this record cleaner.

I’ve used this machine over the years to clean perhaps 1000 LPs front and back, including cleanings of the treasure-containing but poorly cared for LP collections that have been so delightfully available over the past many years. It works very well.

I see no scratches dings bashes marks chips cracks or any damage to this machine. The plexiglass cover is in excellent shape although it might have clouded a bit over the years. The cork mat is in perfect shape. The vacuum arm has no cracks or yellowing and looks to be in very good shape.

In preparing this ad I cleaned several LPs, and the turntable and the vacuum both function as new. I always allowed the vacuum liquid to simply drain and I never used the internal storage tank. Please note that this turntable is geared down to increase the torque and consequently you will hear gears. This mechanical fact is exactly how it sounded when it was brand new and is not a defect.

the accessories shown in the photo are included.

Questions for the seller
you have this in the wrong category.
If I’ve done something in error I’m happy to correct it. First, what category should it be in, and second, do you consider being in the wrong category makes my ad misleading to any potential buyer, or instead just hurts my own prospects of finding a buyer? Thanks
its not a vintage turntable, so not sure why you would put this in there ? look under the turntable category and you will see where this should be. to answer your other question......having it in the wrong category you arent going to get many views....no views, hard to sell
It certainly is not a turntable. I figure it is clearly an accessory. Not sure how I listed it where I did-unfamiliarity with Audiogon, I guess. I’m going to try to recategorize the ad right now. Thanks.
just go into you listing and click on edit.....find the correct category under turntables and then click on save.
Done! Thanks Riley.
still not right. why did you put in the pro audio category ? i told you look under the turntable category.
Done again. I think it’s right this time.
yes.....
Thanks Riley.
