This Preamp has been very highly rated/reviewed. The Signature edition is a complete reworking of even their “new version” SFL-1, specifically:

- Polypropylene and polystyrene film and foil type MIT caps - (14 pcs instead of 6).
- No electrolytic caps (except for mute/timer circuit and raw filament supply).
- Eight VISHAY bulk foil resistor per channel in all critical locations (16 total vs. 2).
- Additional power supply shunt capacitors using Solen or Wima film types.
- Ceramic silver-plated tube socket.
- Pearl tube cooler.
- 75uF 400V Solen metallized polypro capacitor for raw B+ supply instead of the prior 100uF Panasonic).
- Ultra high-speed rectifying diodes instead of bridge rectifiers.
- All Kimber RCA input/output jacks.
- All signal wiring via custom Kimber twisted pair.

From Stereophile: "High Class B, recommended components" Dick Olsher says: "This Canadian Line-level preamplifier kicks butt! exclaims Dick Olsher, noting that it competes effectively with units costing much more. A hybrid tube/FET design from the pen of Joe Curcio, it features a lavish selection of passive parts and careful attention paid to power supplies. Dynamics and spatial resolution are strong suits, DO characterized the SFL-1 as a "Giant Killer"
