Magico S1

One owner Magico S1 mk1 like new, with original boxes and packaging. 

For years my standard for midrange quality was the Quad ESL-63.  Part of the reason for their realistic midrange bite and cohesion, especially with brass wind instruments, was the sheer speed of the speaker’s tweeter section, which gave extraordinarily precise definition and sonic edges around instruments, creating a sense of boxlessness, openness and realism matched by few.

Until the advent of the beryllium dome used in Magico and other speakers these days.  This is possibly one of the fastest tweeters on earth!  As such, with proper setup, the Magico S1 speakers totally gets out of their own way and disappear into a wide, deep soundstage with precise imaging, nice space between voices and instruments; utterly boxless sounding with excellent tonal balance.  Another hot button with any speaker.

These S1's are finished with the MCast Silver finish, and a solid aluminum body.  The MCast is a hot dipped galvanizing (HDG) finish for like, infinite durability and corrosion resistance, with elegant proportions and rounded edges that tastefully blend into room decor.

Musically it's a fast speaker, punchy bass, excellent tonal balance thanks to 2 perfectly phased speakers developed by Magico (1 tweeter with 25 mm beryllium dome + 1 mid/bass 18 cm Nano Tech).

The monocoque structure of these columns, unique to Magico's S series, is made entirely of reinforced aluminum with no visible screws. The sealed cabinet is totally inert, and no cabinet vibration interferes with the sound.

Fantastic performers all on their own, and paired with an appropriate quality sub or subs, they’re a forever speaker that one may never feel the need to upgrade.
