Description

After fiddling for months after acquiring my GMA Europas, I've achieved a new sound equilibrium via tube amplification. Replacing SS Musical Fidelity X-AS100 amp and X-P100 preamp, VAC equipment has eliminated occasionally unpleasant brightness, noticably improved imaging, and increased detail. This is now a wonderfully musical system (I listen primarily to classical and jazz). The Europas disappear into thin air.

Suggestion:

Try a pair of Acoustic Zen Satori speaker cables as a substitute for the DH Labs. I think you'll hear a nice improvement. The Satori should be a nice match for your Green Mountains and VAC amp.

I have had Europa's also. I like Blue Circle Audio, you get alot for you money. That can run with the big boyes. Buy the way,I also have Audio Magic. You have good taste, in my book. Have Fun!

I have not heard the Music Fidelity amp/preamp, but have read where some feel they are the weak link. I personally own Green Mountain and Audio Magic products and I don't get any harshness with Cary tube amp/preamp. IMO the front end is where you need to look. I would get at least 100 hours on the speakers before I made any changes tho. Good luck!
