Description

Primary listening room/home office unfortunately it’s 11x11.5x8, so the dreaded box. The saving grace would the thick pile carpet in there so room resonance is damped.

I love the mid range warmth with this system. It’s super transparent, and has great imaging and soundstage.

The GIK panels have improved clarity and soundstage width greatly - really would recommend some treatment.

Currently playing around with my DIY Firstwatt F6 which is just lovely - I’m building a second to use it in mono blocks to get 100w / Channel into my 4Ohm speakers.

Sounds good but I’m so busy at the moment I’m not doing as much listening as I’d like.

@gmdodd, good system
I can related to your room as me have even smaller. I treated all corner with ASC tube and panel in front and back wall .
But I still can hear clap echoes on top ceiling so my next step is to deal the top.
I’m listening near field triangle set up within 7 ft. Me also have dynaudio monitor before and love it 👍

You got that right GM! I just put a new pivot bearing in my Garrard 401, and I've never heard vinyl sound so good! Sounds so good I decided to slurge on a Koetsu cartridge, (used, but still not cheap)! It arrives tomorrow, so much fun then!

I just got a pair of Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolutions, but I still love the Heritage Specials - they compete very closely with the GEs and have better imaging and soundstage but are more dynamic / forward in their treble/detail - the GEs  presentation is warmer / darker and more relaxed.

I also just got GIKs alpha panels and am busy trying to place them correctly - right now everything sounds bright but there is more transparency there so I’ve obviously cleaned up some reflections but need to play around - I’ll upload a new photo or two once I’ve got things sorted.

I also just finished building a diy Firstwatt F6 which is a lovely amp and can put 50 watts class A into the 4Ohms Dynaudio and Guarneris which is ok for my listening levels and small room.

I have toys to play with but there are many many combinations to try. Fun times!

I like your speakers a great deal. I had Dynudio Contour 5.4's for several years, but then the bug to return to Tannoys got to me, so off I went. Still love the Tannoys, but there's a soft spot in my heart for Dynaudio's.

Great looking speakers. Enjoy.

I do have the music on some of the time. Especially if I am doing work that requires focus. In fact I always listened to music while programming back in the day and if I put on my favorite underworld album dubnobasswithmyheadman I can get into a “flow” state in about 10 minutes, though headphones still work best. I do take breaks through the day and especially the late afternoon and the system goes on for sure, but I do a lot of video conferencing so not as much as I’d like.

I guess unfortunately as it’s smaller than I’d like and is square shaped so not ideal for acoustics. I have just bought GIK Acoustic panels to help tame the high frequencies a bit - so far so good.

Enjoy your music - I love your system and the room is awesome!

Why "unfortunately"? In fact I like how you made optimal use of the space. Awesome! Do you have the music ON, while you work, or is this for after hours? Enjoy your music!
