Description

Small, Multi purpose room. Two GIK bass traps and two 4x2 ceiling panels. Rear wall is angled with closet doors that I keep partially open since there’s no space to install absorption material.

Very happy with the sound overall. Will upgrade streamer at some point.  Have thought about amp upgrade at some point (SET or Linear Tube Audio?). If upgrading amp would also likely look for something with a decent headphone amp included (for Hifiman HE1000 Stealth)

Appreciate any comments.  Thanks for looking!

    • Omega Speaker Systems CAM speakers (95dB)
Big fan of Omega since I got them. Crossover-less design sounds clearer to me. At 68 years old I don’t miss lack of a dedicated tweeter… would like to try Devore O series if I ever got into a bigger room…
    • Eastern Electric M520 Integrated
    18/24 Watt EL34 P/P
    NOS signal and Rectifiers
New Mullard EL34 (Golf Lion were punchier but too bright, considering PSVane)
    • Bluesound Node 2i w/LPS
Sounds pretty good but probably my weak link. Stream 90% of the time.
    • Denafrips Pontus II DAC
Upgraded from Ares II and very happy with the sound.  Very natural to me. Would like to use the i2S input if I upgrade streamers (don’t really want to add another box for a DDC)
    • SVS SB1000 sub
Works for me - clear, tight, ample bass. Integrated well, not enough room for a second sub
    • Furman Power Station 8
    • Various Cables and Interconnects
    Will add model/names later
    CAT8 to Streamer: Supra
    Streamer to DAC: Kimber
DAC to amp: Audio Art Cryo
    Speaker cables: Supra Rondo
    • Sony Basic CD/DVD player
Another week link but not likely to upgrade given how little I play CD’s…

Thanks for the nice comments. Riley (the dog) is great but not much on listening! She’s usually trying to get me to take her for a walk!  She’s only 3 though so it’s to be expected. She’s a rescue brought from Arkansas to Michigan. Great dog.

Yes the SVS sub is great - integrates well - adds a bit of bass but more than anything it feels like it brings a sense of space from the original recording- especially on Classical. Space is a bit tight though so no room for a second one…. I did have two Rhythmik subs when I had a different system in a different room - really liked those too!

Love the amp but thinking of trying either a SET or something from LTA. If I can swing it I may try to keep this amp to switch them around from time to time…

Looks unanimous, stereo cool, dog awesome.

Having a dog positioned correctly at your listening position always improves Imaging...Such a Good Dog!...I'm using an SVS SB1000 subwoofer right now on a second system and it works fine..not even pushing it hard at all..might add a second one..room Logistics a challenge..probably use their Wireless option...
