Thanks @pdspiegel The Bastanis were sold back in the day as kits. Buy the drivers, caps, and resistors. Build the baffles and subwoofer enclosures. That model has changed. In 2021, I knocked over a baffle and broke a 12 driver. Contacted Robert for a replacement. The new 12" full ranger sounded much better than the model I had purchased 15 years earlier. Then I purchased two 15" subwoofer drivers and found a carpenter in Baltimore to build them. Later, I bought another pair of 12". My Baltimore arrpenter built new baffles. Now the only original pieces are the two 12" subwoofers, the tweeters, and the tweeters horns. They are 100 db efficient and I'm supremely happy. Yes, it's taken months to dial in the four subs.
Very cool and unique system! I am not familiar with Bastanis speakers but you have a large room where you can provide enough space for the no baffle design to work well. I also like the PP 300b amp. I too have a PP DHT (2A3) amp that I enjoy very much.
Are you running two pairs of subwoofers? If so, wow! That must have taken some time to get dialed properly.
Thanks much. The plexiglass preamp cover has a ventilation hole above each tube. I had it custom made by the same company that sells the cover for the turntable.
Nice system and killer amp love Deja Vu Audio gear. Does that plexiglass cover on your preamp have ventilation? Really cool system and definitely something different!
