Updated 3/8: adding a pair of #31 subs from REL in an effort to deal with room modes and the large volume.
I’m trying different configurations and am getting closer to a settled position. Speakers are now playing to 23hz (though down in output), but a major cancellation occurs around 40 hz. Above 50, things are terrific. Regardless, I finally have a room that remains relatively inert even at big crescendos.
I’ve tried other switches, though certainly not all. Nevertheless, some of those were direct competitors (price wise) to this, but had limited beneficial impact. The Reiki was notably better such that it was worth the investment.
Thanks much. LOL on the bears! I’m hoping I’m high enough up to dissuade them, but if they want in to play with the hifi, I’m not sure I’ll have much to say about it. I just hope they ask before touching!
You’re probably right on the subs though I would really prefer to not have to employ them. Hopefully I’ll be able to put a few traps in. It’s not booming at all, just not getting full output between 25 and very low 30s like I should. If I do end up with subs, I’m sure I’ll end up w/ two.
Nice system and cabin! I like the rustic rack you built also. I'm not sure I'd have that beautiful turntable set up in front of a window where bears can see it LOL. Possibly adding a subwoofer with some flexibility of placement could ameliorate some of the node issues.
