Description

Lovely new addition to my system. I was eyeing the Stereo 20 as well as this one and as luck would have it, MD had this one on sale which would have been the normal price before this current bout of inflation and gov't mismanagement under the current administration plus a 15% discount code which resulted in a price of $2290 and change plus our state sales tax of 6.25%. Had to do it!
The amp weighs almost 51lbs, is immaculately assembled and finished with smooth and positive feeling controls along with quality interconnect and speaker connections. Much to my surprise I was expecting Shuguang and Sino tubes as illustrated on MD's web site but instead discovered these beautiful Psvane 6SN7s and KT88s. The single gain tube a 6H9C I learned is a quickly becoming an obscure (Russian manufactured I believe) tube as are all NOS 6SL7s because its supply is almost depleted.
This amp definitely has it's own sonic signature compared to my Luxman LX 380 which is quietly resting in the closet right now yet is communicative and lovely sounding in it's own right and like the Luxman comfortably drives the Cornwall IVs. I'm quite grateful I made the effort.
