Well, it's not a fair comparison ! It's like asking how's a 69 Camero compare to the Z28 today or something like that. The only fair thing to say is I still like it very much and found no particular desire to replace it or upgrade. That of course is a complex answer. If I win the lottery tomorrow, of course I will bring home a new D/A. The amount of time I spent listening had been dramatically reduced and so while when I do, I found the Genki still very musical, enough impact and detail for my system and the material I listen to. So it's still a great unit to keep.

SMGc is a small maggies, 87db efficiency & same as ProAc Tab sig. I don't listen to ear piercing level anymore, I have never have the urge to go loud either. I do acknowledge SET300B is not going to deliver live like volume but I am not allow to listen that loudly either :-)
In the current set up, the REL sub actually helps a lot by filling the bottom bottom. Would I like more power, sure sometimes. I drove this set up with Conrad Johnson Perimer 11A for many years before but today I rather have the 300B voice.

Nice system. Kudos for trying the Maggies with the 300b. A lot of number punchers are going to be thinking "no way", but we know. I've used my 3.6's with a 300bxls and 845 with great results. If it sounds so good at lower volumes, you don't need to turn it up. Your SMG's have an especially good x/o in them. Have fun listening.
