Description

As a Linn owner I must say you really have to take a "test flight" on a pair of Linn's because words can not express how truly amazing they are. Some time after I bought my Kabers I made a discovery that was truly amazing. I hooked my Linn's up to my original made in Washington Carver equipment through a complete set of PS Audio Cables. I found out what the word synergy means to put it lightly. We then had the opportunity to spend 5 days with Mr.Bob Carver at a gathering for his most loyal fans and friends. I had several requests to bring our entire system to the gathering so Mr. Carver and others could take a ride with Linn/Carver sound! Bob demoed my Linns for about 20min and was quite surprised by my Kabers. He really liked the sound stage they presented to him. I think the other term was laid back precision. Another comment that many people made was how the Kabers could be so "pitch perfect". I am still not sure how or why it presents the imaging and sound stage that it does, but it is true synergy! I love having people who fit into the "audio purist" mold to stop by for a listen to Carver gear playing music through our Linn's. It gets them everytime! Some of them are speechless while others instantly go into denial. I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures of Mr. Carvers hand built tube amplifiers along side my set up of his classic gear!

System edited: I recently attended this years Carverfest and had the privelage of spending 5 days with Bob Carver! Mr. Carver is the most wonderful and gracious person! I learned quite alot from hime in the 5 days he was there. I brought my entire system for people to "test fly". Mr. Carver demoed it for about 20 minutes and was pleasantly surprised by my Linn's hooked up to his original Carver gear! After the demo he graciously gave his approval of my set up by autographing all of my gear as well as writing a short personal note on the top of my SDA490T and my TFM45 amp! What an awesome experience!

I fell in love with the Linn sound several years ago when a friend purchased a pair. And yes you are correct with your statement that I don't need a home theatre set up. To be totally honest with you when the Linn speakers are placed properly and hooked up to my Carver stuff I think you would be totally shocked at the quality of movie sound. Believe it or not you can actually hear cars etc. drive right down the wall next to you and right around behind you! Thanks for your complimentary post! Ray

Nice to see you don't need a home theater set up. Sure, I'd like one but really don't have the space in our family room to add 3 more speakers and a sub without looking like a stereo shop.

I'm a huge Linn fan as I have two systems.
