Nice system. I read in another post that you used a Boulder 500AE at some point. Did you have monos? It looks like you switched from the 500ae to a Krell FPB-300? I'd be curious to get your thoughts on the differences between the two.

I used to have a FPB-400cx, which was the best SS amp I've had in my system. I downsized and am now slowly upsizing. I'm on the fence on whether to switch from my current Boulder 250ae monos to a pair of Boulder 500ae monos (possible synergy with my Boulder pre) or to just go with the known quantity of another 400cx. From what I remember of the 400cx, it beats my current 250ae monos in every respect; I'm just wonering if the 500ae monos might get me back into that territory. It seems like probably not if you switched to a Krell...

Love that someone else here is using a thorens 125 like me! Also, I have heard thiels with high powered ss audio research and high powered tube audio research. - half the tube power was breath taking in comparison - I know thiels demand power but 300 solid tube watts may be something to explore.

And the arm is really an SME m2-12; one of the newest arms, which A'gon has no blank entry for, so I had to fill that one in...

I don't have any suggestions, but will comment, very nice system, and assembled without purchasing a lot of uber-expensive new gear. That's always something to be applauded.
