Very beginning stages of my eventually Hi-Fi system. Just bought a new house and am currently moving in. I currently have my system hooked up in my bedroom until I figure out what room in the house I want it in. The only furniture I have is in my bedroom right now and the upstairs is completely hardwood and empty. I would appreciate any advice such as room acoustics, equipment suggestions, or anything else you may think of. Now on with my setup....

One thing I've noticed is the imaging is shifted left. I'm assuming it's because of the lack of a wall on the right side. I have a feeling I might rearrange the room again :|
Option 1: Modified XBOX running Xbox Media Center. - Input: 1Gb Ethernet receiving streaming FLAC audio from my Linux server. - Output: TOSLINK Optical bypass to DAC.

Monster M550i RCA - 3.28ft.
True Performance Value for Audio and Home Theater Today's high-end components offer dynamics ranging from the rustling of trees to the loudest explosion. But the sound you hear is only as good as the weakest link in your system. If your cables are not as advanced as your other components, they may prevent you from enjoying films and music the way the director or producer intended. That's why M550i combines several of our latest technologies with cost-effectiveness to deliver full sonic impact at an attractive price. Bandwidth Balanced® for Greater Accuracy Our patented Bandwidth Balanced construction features positive and negative conductors, each consisting of a large bass conductor with a separate conductor for high and midrange frequencies. These multiple-gauge wire networks are specially wound to optimize varying magnetic fields as they travel through the cable to detailed accuracy. MultiTwist®, MicroFiber® and PEX Dielectric: Advanced Technologies Bring Details to Life MultiTwist is an advanced cable construction that brings out nuances by minimizing intertransient noise and improving dynamic range. M550i combines it with our special MicroFiber dielectric insulation, for maximum rejection of interference, and innovative PEX dielectric, for improved signal transfer. The result: lower dynamic noise and startling realism in recordings and soundtracks. Killer Connection: Patented 8-cut Turbine® RCA Our patented Turbine connector offers a unique heavy-duty ground contact shell for superior signal transfer through a heavy-mass connection with a tighter fit. The 24k gold contacts assure a long-term, high conductivity connection. An Impressive Package M550i offers exceptional performance value, recapturing the full dynamic range and clarity of today's music and film soundtrackswithout breaking your budget.
Denon DRA-685 (Integrated)
100 W + 100 W (8 ohms, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.05 %) Providing 100 watts per channel, into 8 ohms, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with no more than .05% total harmonic distortion, the DRA-685 provides separates class audio performance. Together, these components provide superb low impedance drive capability with tremendous dynamic reserve capacity. High speed, wideband discrete power transistors provide delicacy and impact, ideally suited to the needs of the highest quality analog and digital sources.
Monster MCX-1S - 10ft.
OD Size for MCX1s Bi = 11.10mm variance: +/- .2mm variance Ultra Flexible 4-Conductor Speaker Cable for High-End Stereo and Home Theatre High Performance Biwire Construction in a Flexible, Low-Cost Design High performance speakers are a critical part of any high-end home theatre or music system. As the final link in the audio chain, they can make or break the way your favorite music and film soundtracks sound. But in order to get all the performance your carefully chosen speakers are capable of delivering, it's important that you connect them with the highest quality speaker cables you can afford. Thanks to MCX-IS, audiophile sound quality is now easier than ever to achieve. Advanced M Series Technologies for the Most Accurate Transfer of Audio Signals MCX-IS incorporates our famous Time Correct windings for the most accurate transfer of low, mid and high frequencies. And like our other M Series speaker cables, it features our proprietary PEX dielectric for lower dynamic noise with greater clarity and high frequency detail -- for ultimate realism in your favorite music and film soundtracks. Magnetic Flux Tube Construction with a Flexible Jacket for Easy Installation MCX-IS features a Magnetic Flux Tube in each conductor to control distortion producing magnetic fields for exceptional clarity and improved soundstage. Multiple bundles of ultra high purity copper are specially wound around the Magnetic Flux Tube for faster transient response, wider dynamic range, more dimensional midrange, and greater power and clarity. All this performance is packed into a flexible, compact, abrasion-resistant Duraflex jacket, making MCX-IS especially easy to manage in multi-channel home theatre surround and remote speaker installations. Convenience and Performance for Audiophile Music and Film Systems The M Series MCS-IS combines ultimate flexibility and affordability in an audiophile quality speaker cable specially designed for high-end home theatre and music systems.

Very nice bedroom system. I'd spend too much time in bed w/ a system like this.
You are correct about the wall. You are hearing reflections from the boundary that is magnifying the sound. Looks like you speakers could use a little elevation too.
Hi, I was wondering how the Promitheus TVC and Parasound A21 match-up in your system? Do you have enough gain on the amp? Any issues with the sound quality? I am looking to a Parasound A21 to go with my TVC.
