System edited: Updated with replacement Pioneer DVD-A player, as my Yamaha DVD-S1200 has experienced a hardware failure. Also replaced DIY sub encolsure + 12" car audio sub driver + Audiosource Amp 5.3, with a pair of Yamaha YST-SW215 subs I was using for Home Theater duty in the living room. The Yamahas did not cut it for HT duty in the 2400 ft3 living room application, but they work quite well in a music application in the 1150 ft3 bedroom. Am re-using the Amp 5.3 with my SVS 20-39 CS-Plus that is now in the living room. I will continue to use it until such time as I purchase a Behringer EP2500 (650 watt stereo pro-audio amp) and an additional SVS 20-39 CS-Plus to augment the living room HT system. Finally, updated the "comment" section to remove my thoughts on upgrades, as they no longer apply.

System edited: Just picked up my DVD-A player. I am done for quite some time, I think.

For DVD-A you may have a hard time figuring out which layer you are listening to unless your DVD-A player informs you.

Some DVD-As require you to make a selection. I play my DVD-A disks on a 2-channel system with a standard dvd player. I just keep hitting play or skip until the music starts. Of course I'm getting the stero mode.
