Hey, I really appreciate your approach. Buy used when you can! This seems to be a very balanced system, and, while I may not be the most qualified, I really can't think of anything to improve it . . . unless you want to double your budget! But, hey--that wouldn't be in the spirit of things for this column!
Actually, try some vibration damping, but on the cheap. Just ask your wife about that material that you put under area rugs or about that stuff you put in the vegetable draw in the fridge; get some of it and start placing it under the feet of your components. See what happens. Try doubling it up. Also, clean all of your connections with Kontact (Audioadvisor.com). Finally, clean your CDs with Aurric Illuminator, and clean your records with a Record Doctor II (Again, from AA.com)--if you aren't already doing all of this.
But if you want to try a different COMPONENT, you could always go down that TUBE path . . . Jolida . . . Antique Sound Lab . . . Rogue???? Ah, but do so at your own risk!
For now, enjoy THIS system!
