Description
There you go, my first and, as far as I concern, complete system. I have a high hope that, this system can help recover my 18 tone-deaf years.
Apart from what I have listed, I have my computer playing mp3 files using creative SoundBlaster LIVE! 5.1 pass thru a very long digital S/PDIF cable. I also have PlayStation 2, thanks to my gf, connected via S-Video and TosLnk. My DVD player is connected via S-Video and S/PDIF.
Now, about my history..
My family didn't have much interest in audio. Our only equipment was a sony tape/tuner player, cost about $75. It functioned normally about 2-3 years before it started to break down. That covers about 15 years of mine.
My first audio piece is an Aiwa walkman (with updated ear-bud headphone, wow!). I got it when I was 17. Again, it turned into junk within less than 2 years. Then, I got a $1xx-cd/tape/clock Audiovox. Well, I pround of it at the time. When I shipped it from my high school, it got lost, :(. Well, we had one good year together.
Then come Marantz SR7000+Paradigm Pro100. I had it for almost 3 years before I bought B&W CDM 1NT and started my AudioGon life. I hope this system would help me repair my 18+ years of tone-deaf.
Help/suggestion/comment... anything..
Well, first thing I'm going to do is get the B&W HTM-2. Should I even consider HTM-1 here?
Next, I suspect my source should be changed. Any suggestions on cd/dvd(/sacd?) player are welcome.
Changing speaker'(/sub's) cables, and power cord, should help improve the system's sound. The problem is, I have no idea how to start. Many many helps are needed here.
Any other suggestion/comment/critic are all welcome.
This is all.. for now.
