Description

This is my first attempt at putting together a sound system. It is in a dedicated room in the attic. The attic has wood flooring and the ceiling is almost dome-like in shape.

The system works very well together, providing a palpable view into the recording. The performers seem to be placed well behind the plane of the speakers, and depending on the type of music and the skills of the recording engineer, extending beyond the speakers.

I invite comments and suggestions.

With that gear and your own room you are one lucky man!
Perhaps you can share some pics?
I bet it all sounds great, I hope to someday have my own room to escape to.

I agree with 4mikeson, you have selected very wisely and judiciously, especially for a first attempt. I think you are actually close to the end game. Congratulations.

Just browsing member systems and the mention of the Merlins grabbed my attention. I read so many positive responses to both the VSM and TSM, they must be pretty marvelous! I'd eventually like to pick up a pair of the TSM's as well as upgrade my rack (among other things) to the 5.3 as well. I first saw a Solidsteel rack in '97 at a Stereophile event - very nice. Considering your other component choices makes me wish we were neighbors! For a first attempt you appear to have really done your research. Thanks for posting such a hot system.
