Description

Well this is my first foray into the world of high-ish end home theater. This is all of the upgrades I made over the last 3 months in the order that I made them. It started when I got a good deal on the InFocus and was spurred into making the purchase by my friend Josh who also has a projection setup. That just set the ball rolling next was...

Pioneer DV-45 (hi-res dvd/ dvd-a/sacd player)

Paradigm Studio 60's (to listen to SACD)

Rotel RMB-1075 (to really show off the speakers)

Denon reciever (to have SACD surround sound as well as DTS, but mostly for it's low price, decent chipset, and the 6ch inputs as well as pre-outs)

Paradigm Studio CC-450 (to match the fronts so voices don't sound weak compared to the front speakers)

The End

For Now...

Components Toggle details

    • Anthem AVM 30
The latest processor from Anthem. This sucker has every feature I could ever want, and when I want more, there will be upgrades for HDMI, 1394...
    • Anthem MCA 50
This amp replaced my brand new Rotel 1075. I found a deal that I could not refuse and decided to sell the Rotel.
    • Paradigm Studio 60 V3
My brand new front speakers. I've had them for 2mo now so it is interesting to hear them change while the system was being updated.
    • Paradigm Studio CC-470 V3
My brand new (yesterday!) center channel to match the new fronts. Needless to say I think it sounds great.
    • Paradigm MiniMonitor
8yrs old and still kicking out some pretty good sound. These just became my rear speakers.
    • Paradigm CC-350
This is my old center channel that I'm considering using it as a rear in a 6.1 setup. The denon amp would be used to drive the rear center.
    • Pioneer Elite DV-45
DVD/CD/SACD/DVD-A player. This is what I use for most of my critical listening and viewing.
    • Pronto TSU-2000
A touch screed remote (think palm pilot).
    • InFocus ScreenPlay 4805
This is my projection system. I currently have a 80'' 16x9 screen that hands from the ceiling and rolls up to reveal artwork on the wall behind. This is what started the avalanche of upgrades.
    • Jensen JS-1000
The last thing that needs updating. (hummm... thoese words sound familar)
