Description

Most of the components belong to former century but this system gives what I want: Life-like sound.

I'm done with the basic components, and now looking for cables and some tweaks.

Spinaker, Thank you for your kind words. Moving the components to side wall greatly effected the sound (positively). Soundstage is more apparent now. Moving the tubes out of the woofers' range is an added plus.

So far (in two years) no problems with neighbors. I don't listen at high levels and that helps :)

Charles, sorry but I can't help you about the capacitors. These changes were done by the original owner. He had Mundorf Silver-Gold-Oil capacitors and Echole Silver-Gold-Palladium inner cables installed by Kerem Kucukaslan of Echole Cables.

I bought the speaker already upgraded. If these upgrades weren't performed by Kucukaslan should I go for them? Not likely. This is not child's toy.

During the purchase he claimed the end result is better than Total Eclipses. This may be true or not. But since that listening he mentioned was not in a controlled situation I doubt that. And sometimes people can not control their tongues while selling items.

Firochromis,
What improvements were noted with the Mundorf capacitors placed in your speakers(I use the Total Eclipse). Is there just 1 cap per crossover or are there more? I love the sound of my Total Eclipse but curious about capacitor modifications, is this a simple thing to do?

Hey Firochromis. Nice system, good to see another apartment dweller still making the effort to get good sound. I really like your room configuration with the TV and rack on the side and the sweet spot chair for stereo listening. Any problem with the neighbors?

Thank you for your comments Charles. I knew you were using ASI cables and visited your system page to read your comments. Then I see the word "Ocellia" first time on your page. "If Charles doing something it must be really good" I thought. :)

"Life like sound"
With this system I`m sure you have achieved it.This is a system you can treasure for many years. Regarding cables I`ve used the excellent ASI Liveline(better than anything else I`ve heard before). Now for the past 2 months my cable loom(IC and SC) is the Ocellia Silver Reference. This cable is simply remarkable and utterly natural. If "life like" presentation is your goal it will be very difficult to find a better choice.

The Ocellia is splendid with my Coincident components and mates beautifully with my Yamamoto DAC(superbly organic and real). The Ocellia breathes life into the music and pesents flesh and blood performers in your room.
