Laptop is 6 year old MacBook (2MB Ram) running Pure Music app and Itunes with Itouch as a remote control utilizing Apple's free "Remote" app. USB cable is Wireworld Starlight connecting Laptop to Dac. Music saved to outboard 1TB hard drive, firewire connected to Macbook and all recordings Applelossess with error correction turned on. All gear is on a dedicated 20 amp line.
System edited: Have gone computer audio. MacMini with outboard hard drive, usb into DAC and running Pure Music with Itunes (Applelossless with error correction on when ripping). Use Itouch with Apple remote app.
Jeff, thanks for the comment. Haven't decided on a dac...using macmini applelossless format.....the Almarro SET tube amp will have to mesh with any dac.
sweet Larry. i once owned sl-3's happily for years but then was bitten by triode driven tubes. i'd love to hear the almarro 318b & the raysonic. the VS db99 must be a perfect synergy for SET.
System edited: changed out Martin Logan SL-3's after nine years...new speakers are easily as fast but have tremendous ability to play micro and macro dynamics with very deep, tight and fast bass...smaller in size too! Drivers are very coherent.
System edited: Sold my Martin Logan's after 9 years and have some VonSchweikert db99's headed my way...I'm doing extensive room treatments while waiting.
