Description

Here's where we currently are. It's a matter of time before I start seeking out new speakers to pair with the behemoth MC452. However, that's not because I'm unhappy with my Omen Def's. In fact, quite the opposite; I adore them. I just think the Zu Definitions may be a better pairing for the MC452. No guarantee I'm going w/ Def's, but I'm leaning that way. Either way, I need to find something with more bass. Allow me to elaborate...

I'm a bass nut. Lots of Hip-Hop; lots of Electronic. Lots of DJ's, turntables, mixers, etc... Love to feel "at the club" or "at the concert". For years I've delightedly used an Axiom Audio EP600 subwoofer. Recently tried out Zu's Submission sub. Could tell deficiencies in the Zu sub vs. the Axiom, and vise versa. In the end, I concluded the speakers sounded better w/o a sub, so the Axiom was relegated to a corner in the basement and the Zu was returned. But I miss my bass. So, I'm either getting full-range with some thump, or I'm getting stereo subs. Either way, it'll look different in the future.

I dig the NAD as it serves dual duty. Keeps it simple... not as simple as my old Peachtree iNova, but fewer quality issues. It's fed directly via USB on my laptop and via coaxial from my Onix CD Player/Transport. Laptop runs J River Media Center 18/19 & talks to a server in my office which contains the tunes. Can run the J River via remote on my iPad, love that!

My stereo has been all over the place the past decade or so. Witness my growth:
