I too looked into the Avatar...My requirement was a little different...I need an HT out. By the way this is for Spendor speakers (89db). I decided against it due to the fact that the preamp out (for my sub) is disabled in HT mode. So, now I am looking elsewhere (Krell, MF, Rogue)...Good luck.
