Description

After years of chasing audio nirvana to me this is my ultimate system.

It combines the best of the east and west with an almost exclusively audio note component set ( I couldn't resist the marvellous Cec transport no matter how good the CDT5 is) and this is the twist in my system.

One final component awaits the record player! It will combine a turntable arm and cartridge from you guessed it, Audio Note components. A Voyd reference ( aka AN TT3 reference that was) with an AN 1s tonearm and AN IO Gold cartridge.

IMHO this system conveys music like no other I have heard.... It also causes sleep depravation as I can't stop listening :)

Happy listening to all you audiogonr's out there!

Delightful, absolutely delightful system. Pretty expensive too....shame you couldn't spring a few extra bucks for a digital camera.

hi. just came across yr system. you hv a very nice collection of equip. (i too use a Kondo Ongaku amp in my primary system).

curious why you've opted for Kondo Ongaku over ANUK Ongaku (i've never had the chance to compare them side-by-side).

the Pallas cable sounds most interesting. are you using this from CDT to DAC, & TT to SUT?

Updated system June. 2012
Finally got round to updating this page.
Added Voyd reference AN1S and Io Gold as planned.
Changed ANS6c for UK ANS8 as it matches my new Pre amp better..... Yes I sold the M7 and replaced with ANUK M5 phono
But the biggest upgrade is the veins of the system. Low capacitance Pallas signal and mains cables throughout. Remarkable!!!!!

Hi Jzach

I don't think you will lose too much with onboard x overs. At least you will gain that natural E sound.

Peter from ANUK will help you with your goal.

Hi Caister,

I replaced the MBL with Wilson Sasha's and Gryphon but then had the opportunity
to get the Ongaku so went for it as I missed the single ended purity. I just never
had a chance to update my pics.

I am currently using Rogers LS 3/5a's 15 ohm whilst I try to find the best speaker
match for the Ongaku. Did you try the ANE Spe HE non signature versions?

I didn't really want to take up more room with the Crossover Boxes that come with the Signature version. Maybe I can order the Spe HE's with the Alnico drivers but without the external Crossovers.

Cheers

Hi Jzach, apologies to you too for delay in reply.

I tried many speakers over the years with many different systems but when I heard what the ANUK speakers can do I felt they were better matched to the SETs and the way they energise a room I have still yet to hear from any other brand...........what happened to your MBL set up?? I thought you replaced everything with them?

best regards

Caister,
With a system like you have, it would be a shame not to post photos.

Hi Caister,

Nice to see you finally found nirvana with this system.

I also just bought a Kondo Ongaku and have a Kondo M7 Phono and Audio Note UK cd as well as SME 20 with Kondo I-OM cartridge and Kondo cables etc.

I'm currently looking for suitable speakers and was wondering what other speakers you looked at before deciding on the ANE Spe HE and why you chose these. I previously owned a Kondo Shinri and was using Avantgarde Duo's but
found they weren't a good match with the Kondo amp.

I also had a listen to the Ocellia speakers with the Phy drivers but am waiting
to audition the ANE HE's.
