Recently moved and found my new room the most challenging to date. Limited bass response initially and placed speakers closer to rear wall than I would have preferred. Isolation under each component in addition to Nordost sort cones under cd. Possible future upgrades include turntable and ability to handle computer/streaming audio (DSD). Looking at Nordost Sort Fut to replace speaker spikes. Any thoughts??
Wow love your system! I have Sort Fut under my Proac D30r's and couldn't be happier. My speakers are on hardwood floors (and raised foundation) so vibration control was a big concern for me. Sort Fut were expensive be well worth the cost. I also use Sort Kones (TC) under all of my gear. I started with them under my CD player and was shocked by the improvement they made. I was even more shocked when I purchased 3 more and placed them under my amp. I am now looking to upgrade my CD player, thinking maybe Esoteric... Good luck, Ron
I'm located in London, Ontario. Have had the Edge pre in the system for quite a few months now and I am loving the sound. Have been thinking of switching in the Allnic pre because I have not heard it in my system since I replaced my speaker cable to the Nordost Valhalla. Really like having both options and switching between them but have been considering just keeping one and putting the value towards an upgraded turntable or some type of computer option-dac, streamer?? Big step and have not reached the point yet. Best wishes.

Forgot to add the Allnic H-3000 Phonostage to list-very happy with this gear. Also recently traded nordost Valkyrie speaker cable to Valhalla series 1. Wow its hard to believe it could make such an improvement and also allowd speakers to be moved out from wall and further a part with noticeable increase in bass response. Have been thinking the floor may be more the issue and have been looking into ways to decouple speaker from floor. Have had the Edge pre in the system for a number of months now and sounding very good. Will probably put the allnic pre back in for winter months. I really like the sound of both. Playing lots of new vinyl lately and the sound is great. Miss having local audio friends to help with opinion sound, set up etc. Best wishes.
Extremely nice system.......You don't have to go MEGA to be in the Club!!! Two very top notch pre-amps, and a very good amp. Fossda.....stay there, and be satisfied.......Many have much more and still are not happy. i've always liked Edge gear.
First off,...that's a great line-up of gear; the 800Ds are a very nice speaker and the Edge and Esoteric gear are first rate. Twilo's question is on my mind too; what pre-amp do you favor for most listening (I don't see the Edge pre in the picture, do you still have it). Having owned the NL 12.1 for MANY years, I can tell you that you should not have any issues from the amp or Edge pre-amp side with bass response. The 800Ds are 32Hz +- 3db on the low-end so placement is definitely at issue here. Have you tried toe-ing in the speakers at all or blending in below 36Hz with a REL or M&K sub running directly off the amp mains? You are up against a window on the right side and have a long hall and presumably more open space to the left so your room is not helping with bass in many ways.
