I see you're limited on spacing.  I faced the same dilemma, but mine had more to do with cable lengths.  I purchased a desktop shelf from Poppin, it's the Series A. Super slick, functional and unobtrusive.  May alleviate having to set your Pathos ontop of your Direct Stream and it's only $99.  I've got no skin in the game with "Poppin", I just wanted a less expensive alternative to a rack system.
