Description

This rig is the cumulation of building my system for over thirty-five years. The Threshold SA-1 monoblocks are true classics and still sound great powering the bass panels of the MG-20s!I love this system's combination of details, natural timbres, and soundstage. I sit about 14 feet off of the MG-20s so I get a great blossoming of the soundstage in a very real and natural way.I named the system "The sound of Jazz" because I'm a serious jazz buff who listens to swing,be-bop,hard-bop and soul-organ styles about 99.99% of the time! Most of my collection was recorded in analog so it has that organic/musical sonic sense to it which sounds great when played on this system. It's a wonderful treat on a daily basis tohear the great players in the history of Jazz play in my house.Nothing is like live music but this system gives a great illusion of the real thing.I can honestly say that my goal was to enjoy the beauty of music I love and this system allows me to do that, without feeling that I'm missing out on some important aspect of the experience of sound that we humans call music.

Hello Teejay! Thank you!

As I told you I´m thinking on the Absolute speaker cable. I´m thinking bi-wire.But I´ve a doubt. Do you think is better an Absolute shotgun or 2 runs of absolute separated (one for the bass and the other for mids and highs). My amp only have one pair of speaker outputs...
Have you any experience on this subject? What you think about it?

Thank you very much

Hello Teejay!

Thank you for your answer!

Only now I notice that you have an Harmonix Studio Master! I´ve already tried this one on my CDP. More bass and dynamics...It makes a very good match with my CDP (is very sensible to power cords).

Did you compared the Absolute with the Studio master? What where your findings?

I want the Power cable to use on my CDP...

Cheers

Hello Teejay! Thank you very much for your answer!

Did you try another speaker cables from acoustic zen besides The Absolute? Or other speaker cables from other brands? How you define the Absolute speaker cable?

I already tried Satori, Matrix Ic and silver reference and love them all... But this ones are a bit expensive!

Cheers

Hello Teejay!

I´m building a new system and i´m considering change all my cables. I have acoustic Zen Silver Ref II and Audioquest Vulcano speaker cable. I´m considering for ICs the Absolute and for speaker cable the Double Barrel or the Absolute.

Is possible for you to speak a litle about the absolute line of Acoustic zen? Do you think the absolute is a major step over the Silver Ref? Did you test the Absolute speaker cable or the Double barrel?

My amp is the ASR emitter II exclusive amd I´m considering the Von Schweikert VR-5SE. Here where I live is impossible to test this kind of cables but I liked a lot the previous products I owned from Acoustic Zen!

Thank you very much for your help
Best regards
Mike
