Dedicated audio room with this system coming together over the past several months. The heart of the system is really the Cinnamon Audio Galle dac. The WVL Sons are driven by an eXemplar Audio integrated amp and the combo is just wonderful. This is the most enjoyable system I have put together in all my Aphile years. I just love it. Big shout out to Colin of Gestalt Audio Design and John Tucker of eXemplar Audio for helping me assemble this fun system. Greatly appreciate both of you!
@vitussl101 thank you for the kind comments. The Galle dac is now the heart of my system meaning it really impacts the sound of my system more than any other piece. I have the matching Galle streamer coming very soon.
I love the aesthetic of your system. I'm particularly enamored by the Cinnamon Audio Galle DAC. If it sounds half as good as it looks. From their website: "the Galle DAC simply exists", written by a existentialist. It made me think of an audio system I heard by the artist Ron Arad that was in the middle of a chic clothing store on Melrose Ave, in LA. Al the stuff in the store was between black to white, with no colors. The rather rudimentary components were ensconced in concrete/rebar recycled for this one off system. They were playing Brian Eno, something like Discreet Music and it worked, better than you could imagine. I thought the Galle was concrete until I went to their website. Anyways what a unique and nice setup you have.
Thanks for the nice comments all! The diffusion panel was made by a seller on Wayfair who hand makes each one with the color scheme you want and size you desire. The guy is out of California. I will try and find his contact info.
Classy room from a classy guy! I was hoping someone I know would try out that dac. Very nice. Looks like Colin has hooked you up with many fine pieces. And we both miss our Dudes. See you soon.
Looks (and I am sure sounds) fantastic. Never heard of Cinnamon Audio so I learned something new today. Such a unique and beautiful approach to the casework. Enjoy.
Thanks all for the nice comments! I get the water basin comment 🙂. It really does not look like that in person as the top bronze plate is pretty flat with only a slight downward impression.
Hey Bill all is right with the universe your virtual system is back! ;) And looking great I've heard both your speakers and Dac at CAF various years and loved them Colin does have some great ears. I will say, and don't take this the wrong way the Galle from front on kind of looks like a high end water basin. Very distinctive!
You can also see I have some diffusion and bass trapping in the space. I have a couple more board band absorption panels coming to finish out the room. Most likely directly to right and left of my seating position and in the small hall to the left of the room.
