    • Magnepan Little Ribbon Speaker (LRS)
The original LRS model. These are from the end of the production before they switched to the +model. I was stretching my budget to get these, so I opted not to take the upgrade offer for LRS+ at the time. I'm very happy with the sound of these; maybe someday I'll move up to the next series. I have played a lot with position, tilt, orientation of tweeters, etc. This leaned back positioning gives the flattest response in my room.
    • Schiit Audio Freya
Original Freya model. Have rolled a lot of tubes; always run it in tube mode.
    • iFi Audio Zenstream
This is great when it's working, but has been finicky at times. I listen in the Tidal mode.
    • FiiO K11 R2R
I have a Schiit Modi multibit in my other system and find the multibit sound "richer." This inexpensive ladder DAC just came out so I picked it up to compare. It sounds better to me than the Burr Brown that I have in a NAD integrated and as good as the Modi multiunit. It runs in NOS or OS mode. I'm running it mostly in NOS, which seems appropriate since it's a ladder. The sound is sweeter in OS, but more withdrawn, too.
    • Schiit Audio Aegir
This is the heretical piece of this system. Everyone says it shouldn't work. I think it sounds amazing -- but I listen from 65-75 db with occasional peaks of 80+ in a 12x15' room. By formula, I'm using between .4 and 35 watts. I've tried my NAD 356BEE instead (80WPC or 220WPC NAD rating), but this has more punch in the bass and a magical midrange. The Audiofool on youtube reviewed LRS with Aegir; he told me he also got lots of disbelief, but loved the combo.
