Value system. Amp and CD player purchased new. Speakers from Audiogon. A great system for acoustic, vocal, jazz, blues. Classical is ok--detailed and dynamic, but lacks scale. You just need a 'big' system and room to do justice to classical. Would like to experiment with tubes, but that gets expensive. Would really like to swap the speakers for something at the next level to see what that does for the overall sound.
Have also taken advantage of the digital input on the Cambridge 840c. Use an Apple Airport Express (and iTunes) to stream music to the 840c thus utilizing the high-quality DAC. Mainly use this for Internet radio, but also WAV file playback. Great way to combine today's convenience with hi-fi.
