You are correct, an upgrade to the Adcom amp is on your horizon. An Odyssey SS or VTL 85 tube would drive the Vandies with far more authority. The Apollo is much better than many think and profits from a decent DAC. There are too many to count, but the Rega, Micromega, Arcam and others would all do. Have fun.
