Description

The system is the result of 45 years of music listening on a budget. The dedicated room was a ground-up design as part of a custom new home build. The room measures 19L x 13W x 9H. Front wall has 2 layers of drywall with acoustic glue and flooring is carpet with underlay over concrete. The new MG-1.7s replace a pair of Gallo 3.1s and are revelatory. Covers are dark gray with silver aluminum side rails on Mye stands. They're just breaking in but the sound is detailed and engaging with uncanny imaging and micro-dynamics. I'm a Magnepan convert.

That's a very nice system. I have the same mat and clamp. I'm currently using just the AS Grip MK2 clamp with an o-ring directly on the platter with great results. There is much more focus to the sound, and much better bass. The o-ring is really necessary in order to have the record completely flat. Have you tried this?
