Description

The objective is to obtain the best sound for the least effort. All the components have been in place for at least 6 months. The sound is full with a wide and very well defined soundstage. Exceedingly quiet background, almost black. The music has transparency and punch. I'm very happy with the setup.

System edited: The addition of the KAB Arm damper and heavy mat really helped in tracking very diffilcult passages. The Telarc 1812 doesn't jump, skip or miss, it just plays straight through. A very worth while tweak. The heavier mat allows much better VTA adjustment allowing for a tail down attack if needed.

Sorry Ledhed 2222 I'm so late getting back, I don't check in to often. The Citation 12 I'm running is 33 yrs old and completly stock. It is adequate for the job and provides enough juice (60w/c) to drive the 100's quite nicely. However it does lack some top end resolution although reasonably transparent. The 100's also like power. Their nominally rated at 84 or 86 db @ 6 ohms. My upgrade path is a classe 100 or 150, a bryston 3bst, aragon 2002, etc. My max budget is 1k which will have to wait until year end. I really want to keep the available power below 150w/c @ 8 ohms. I like headroom.

System edited: Just replaced the HK/Rabco ST-7 with the Technics SL 1200, what a difference! The Technics produces no noise, is rock solid, and very flexable. Beats the crap out of digital!

System edited: It jist keeps getting better. New speakers, cartridge, and the turntable tweek have given me great dynamics & transparency with a black background. Couldn't ask for much more.
