Hi Teck5,

Do post some photos of your system so we can have clearer understanding as to how things are set-up. Gathering from what you have conveyed, my guess a solution to the integration problem you are currently facing is to either go for a good 2-way monitors OR try find longer listening distance (in the case of multi drivers 3 or 4-way).

In a friend's set-up room size similar to yours (ar,15'W x 22'L x 9'H), his Mini2 driven by all Soulution gears (710 stereo amp, 720 pre, and 740 cdp) had all the desirable qualities you are looking for, PLUS when cranked up, able to drive his room like crazy with unbelievable wall shaking bass! Organ-sustained, acoustic-plucked, even reggae-punchy bass lines were handled with aplomb.. Believe me, the Mini2 can simply rock placed in a room that size!

But then again, I don't really know how much of that 'side opening' you mentioned is giving up on bass drive ability in your particular room without having any visual cues.

Well done.. An investment you will unlikely regret! Have had my 611 running for 16yrs now. Had my doubts along the way, or maybe more looking for a change--owned some behemoths from ARC, VTL, Jadis, ML and Gryphon amps and pre's along the way (with many various speakers too)--only to find in the end that my little vintage amp is simply irreplaceable. AND they still sound and look as good now as from day one I got them, trouble free--timeless! Yes, took me that long just to plunge and further invest into their pre-amp last year.
Ok, better leave you for some quality music time now.. ;)) Feel free to drop by my site should you have any queries. Enjoy!

Hi Teck5,
Congrats on your FM discovery! Imvho, outlay made will be very well repaid by the countless hours of trouble free musical bliss ahead.. If you haven't done so, do give their PIT ic's a go, this will further kick the performance of your 155 a notch up or two. Dependent on your system requisites too however, most times presenting a better balanced and neutral sound overall.

And for curiosity, how were you convinced to finally end up with one? Auditioned few competing makes prior to decision? As their look, diminutive size and functions sure doesn't quite match up the asking price.. ;)) Only by hearing--one believes! Cheers..
