Taksil: I started with Audiopax 88's, which came highly recommended at the time i bought the Avantgardes. They sounded fine after the speaker broke in and i learned how to fiddle with those controls on the Audiopax. But, the change to the Lamm ML2 brought far greater weight, tonality and a non-mechanical 'continuousness' to the proceedings. Some urban legends say the ML2 is better than the 2.1 - i have no idea- but both amps are almost reasonable on the used market- i know Audio Federation has a pair for sale now. (They are very nice folks based in the West). The only problem with Lamm is that Vlad and only Vlad repairs them- no schematics available, no authorized repair centers. So make sure you buy a set that has been completely vetted. You need to refresh the tubes routinely and I use a ribbed plate tele for the one 12 A slot- otherwise you are pretty much forced to buy the power tubes from Vlad, because he claims their values are matched to each amp. Those tubes aren't terribly expensive from him, so I just get them from him. You also need to buy a good meter- a fluke- to check bias. I think you will marvel at how good they sound on the speaker; then you get into preamp matching, and of course there is a synergy with his preamps and amps.

@Charles1dad,

Thank!

Yes, the Concert Fidelity preamp brings much joy and just glued it all together.

Love your system and room. Enjoy!

@Whart,

Thanks Bill!

Probably one upgrade left ..wink..Lamm ML 2 or 2.1 the grip they have on the Duos are unbelievable. A friend has that pairing.

Installed a Vibraplane under th Micro Seiki TT this weekend and cannot stop grinning :-)

Thanks Lloydelee21!

There is a 110 inch screen which is only slightly visible in the top of 1st photo :-) I find that I mostly listen to 2 channel only.

Serious system! Nice! Enjoy and congrats!!! Clearly the result of a lot of hard work and passion from the sounds of your description.

Maybe time to get a 3 meter Stewartscreen to match the size of your audio soundstage! ;)
