Hi Ozy,

thanks for the response.

Hi Ozy,

wow you have done allot with your room treatments, care to go into detail in relation to each product along with placement, what they offer sonically upon placement.

Because you like tweeks I would recommend you purchase some StillPoint Ultra 5's and firstly place them under your speakers. I have with positive results and find even though now cheap well worth the investment, others whom are trying also are very happy.

Hi Hr1--
The bridged vertical biamping, utilizing the external bridge adaptors, is so far the only way i have tried and connected the 909s to the Focal Stellas. Since the focals have 2 sets of binding posts, it behoovs me to drive each section independently, with 2 sets of speaker cables.
Turning the 909s into monos and utilizing speaker jumpers seems to be less desirable.Based on my previous experience with my Gryphon Colleseums, that configuration proved to sound less dynamic and recessed.hope i shed some further light on this.

ozy

Hi Ozy.

I red that you're using the 909's in bi-amping configuration. Have you tried to set them in monos with the appropriate external Burmester mono adapters? If yes, would you be so kind to explain in details the difference in terms of sound quality of both configurations.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Lloyd--
yes both are very good and mamange to get out of the way . and yes, i have compared them extensively, both in a daisey- chain confiuration and each by itself. but the sum of the parts exceeds the whole, hence my current config.i'd probably give the Burmester 948 a slight edge over the Accuphse 1220.Both improve things drastically,by mostly lowering the noise floor, and "hash".

ozy

Hi Ozy...cool stuff! two power conditioners! and both SOTA! Have you compared them? Just curious if you had to get one to drive the whole front end other than amps...which would it be?

Hi Jake--
All's well here, thank you.
Yes, i'm using the Accuphase 1220 for the DCS gear ,and the Burmester 948 for the Burmester 077 pramp. this way , analog and digital are completely seperate. an overkill? perhaps. but the improvment in reducing the noise floor is significant!
With ~400 hours on the Dcs and Burmester gear, the sound is defenitely reaching a stable plateau ,with only minute changes still occuring.
my room acoustics also has gone thru some revitlizing. pics to follow.all in all, i find myself listeining to this system more then any of my previous itirations, and really marvelling at its sheer sonic beauty.

ozy

Hi Ozy!

Hope as always that things are going well...Noticed you have added another power conditioner to the wonderful Accuphase active p.c...Would you please explain how you are using them both in your system?
I imagine the hours on the "new" equipment have finally reached the level to where you now have a handle on the sound of your system and it's synergy. Hope it is all you wished for!

Best regards,
Jake

azjake

Mr.ozy, my next system will be-- stellaem, or venture, fm acoustics or boulder, airforceone t/t,accuphase or dcs for cds,and argento cables.

Focalfan-- thank you for your input.appreciate your point of view, and compliments.
What is your next system?

Grr6001--" A legend in your own mind"- truer couldn't have been spoken,Gary!LOL.

ozy

Dear mr.ozy, first congratulations for the new wonderfull gear you recieved. really world-class amplifers from Burmester- maybe the first uber-amps! donot know the 077 but i'm sure it also world-clas.
Heard the vivaldi dcs in japan( i was away for 5 monthes in the orient from my bank, and sold my all system)- I think it ismore like analogue sound, thAn digital.
Second ,like some guys here said, there are people on audiogon that are not ok in the head. don't pay attention. They are very jealous, and don't understand audio. You have a very nice combination and world- class system.

Hi jake-- Appreciate the kind words ,as always.
Yeh, i believe that the bar has been lifted, significantly , with these new additions.

ozy

Hey Ozy,

Remember not to even bother with replies to those that would belittle what they covet!
It only encourages them...:-)
Glad the latest and greatest has "lifted the bar" for you!

Regards,
Jake

Ok, thanks Ozy.

Hi Hr1,

Have not demoed any of the burmester digital- the 069 or the 111 as of yet.one of the caveats i face when selecting a digital playback system is that it ought to have an Sacd- playing ability- i have quite a bit invested in that media.but, from what i gathered, the burmester 069 is one of the top players out there.

ozy

Hi Ozy,

have you demoed in your fantastic system the cd player Burmester 069? If yes, how you would compare it with Vivaldi stacks? I own the Burmester 069 and after a long comparison with the DCS Scarlatti 4 stacks, I prefer the Burmester 069 in the better overall performance and musicality.

hr1

kevinwann,

wow! after reading many of your post, including some sh%#
you are trying to stir on this page, you must think you are a legend in your own mind!

this hobby is supposed to be fun & these posts are for intellect dialog about great equipment & music > NOT to impose your bs on others!

take it somewhere else.

grr6001

Ozy,
Please ignore that Kenwood owner and listen to some nice music on the Vivaldi. That dude doesn't deserve your time. I am sure he doesn't know the word "decency", and has a lot growing up to do. And oh...he seem like the jealous type too.

4orreal

Owner
kevinkwann- where are your system pictures? oh ,you don't have a system..... then why are you even here?

ozy

Owner
......and someone who has had kenwood amp/reciever(couldn't afford more then that) and trolls where he doesn't belong is clueless. kevinkwann-- get lost!

ozy

Someone who makes a wholesale move from VAC to Burmester isn’t searching for better sound so much as he’s searching for a clue.

kevinkwann

Audiooracle-- thank you for your kind words and suggestions.
