this room and system is the result of 10 years in High End audio. my
system has been stable for a couple of years (except for transport and
amplifier upgrades within the same brand). the room has been in the
planning stage for about 18 months and i actually moved in a little over
a month ago.
my audio philosphy is to have the system get out
of the way of the event. i like as pure and simple a signal path as
possible and, at this point, prefer passive to active gain stages. i
love all the formats and enjoy having lot's of music.....vinyl is my
favorite but i listen to at least 60% digital. the new room really
reveals the benefits of SACD over redbook.

truely allow the event to be recreated before me. i love the way the
speakers disappear and i am transported to another place/time.
i have choosen my cables, sources, amps, speakers to have as little of their own sound as possible.
recently, i upgraded my digtial transport from the modified Philips
SACD 1000 to the new emmlabs CDSD.....this was a significant step upward
in performance.

But, what I just read seems to point to a more positive note with regards to these dual JLs.
I sat in the Perfect Chair PC6, I think the model after yours, and I was very surprised that I didnt find it too comfortable, or atleast as comfortable as they advertise it to be. The leather was a little stiff also.
I really wanted to spring for the Perfect Chair and have it as my end-all of listening chairs so to say that I'm bummed is an understatement.
Now, the Barcelona chair... is it comfy?
Also, do you have experience with the Eames chair?

I'm 24 and I first saw your system page when I was 22. 2 years later, I have amassed a system almost worthy of putting up on one of these pages... mostly because of you and your page.
Lox, Your responses are overly pretentious. Who are you to tell us all how to enjoy our music? If by ourselves, or with our families, regardless of this fact, music and its reproduciton is a personal thing.
Mike's system is his own, regardless of what your wishes for an audio system are. You cannot impose on him what he should listen to or whom he should listen with, that's his choice.
For you, I would say, remove that awful chair from between your Kharmas and remove that couch that is suffocating the right channel. But, am I right to say that? No.
As was pointed out, your car cant even seat your entire family and yet you make yourself to be this wondrous family man. You dont even have a picture of your wife in your family pics link in your system page... who knows what kind of family man you truly are.
Are you still waiting for the delivery of the 11s? If so, when will it be? BTW, I've always admired your dedication to this hobby... your room and your gear are testament to that fact.

Can you post a review of your VR9s? I heard the VR4jr but was not particularly impressed... but would love to read your take on the 9s. I havent heard much above the VR4jr in the VR lineup.
Though I've heard speakers all the way to the Wilson Maxx2 driven by Halcro DM68 monoblocks.
