Brian's system!

Hey Brian! Welcome to the McIntosh world and glad to hear you are loving it (I just saw your forum post about it). I have heard the 2275 twice now, the second time on 802Ds, and I agree with your a...

Great system. I just bought a pair of Triangle Comete ES speakers - they should arrive later this week. Did you have those before the S1.4? I auditioned the Focus 140 and really liked them but pref...

I love MIT with my McIntoshes. Perhaps you could give them a try. Also, I have to say that after hearing them in 3 systems, I find the VR4jrs lack a little HF definition and clarity. However I am s...

A pleasing Start

I agree with Karl. The speakers are part of your problem but the CD player may be as well. Changing CD players is much easier so I would try that first. Arcam is a good idea, Cary too.

JB's 2-Channel System

The 640c is a great budget player. I used to own a 545 mk2 and it kicked butt! You could upgrade everything else and the amp still wouldn't be ashamed. I still wish I had it for back up and because...

All wood, all tube 845 SET

The Unison amps I have heard have all been very impressive in terms of driving inefficient speakers. The 845 monoblocks were amazing with JM Labs and Royds - ditto the little Simply 2. I would love...

It is interesting to me how you guys mention YBA needing fast speakers - I feel exactly the same way about McIntosh. I guess they both need to be able to shine in full glory. I am anxious to try YB...

Wow! What a time warp you have. How do the old McIntoshes compare to the new ones? Talk is the old equipment doesn't quite compare so I wonder what your thoughts are. Keep it going! Arthur

Hi againJust wanted to know what you think of the C46. I am very interested in it for the equalizer but I don't really want to give up my tubes (VK-3i). How does it compare to the C2200? Perhap...

Now that is what I call a setup! I am becoming a fan of having several systems too since I can tailor each one to a particular type of music. Besides, it's fun to swap around when you need a change...

HeyI want a MC252 but haven't made the leap yet. I have heard those speakers and agree that a tube preamp would probably be a great bet and would match well with the Mc. keep it up! Arthur
