The great protector of all that is sonically beautiful.
    • Martin Logan Summit
My mistress and her twin sister.

Brilliant, Awesome unit! Transparent as freshly cleaned glass.  Plays BRDVDs and SACDs and anything else you can shove into it to the Nth degree. Balanced XLR outputs leaves it sonically unmatched ... IMHO.

Just curious about the 1.2KW Macs. I know all about power reserves and overhead but this seems like overkill. I have the MC402 which as you know is 400 x 2 and I use nowhere near its capacity. In fact, if the meters are bouncing around the 40-watt mark it's about as loud as I'll ever play music. Anything over that power is overhead, reserve, fills out the sound, whatever you want to call it. My point is that 400 is more than I'll ever use.

I know the MLs, like all electrostatics,  aren't known for efficiency, but how much of the 1.2KW are you using during a "reasonable" listening session?
