My goodness, Arthur, what a great system overhaul. Most of the main system components are from Destination Audio. That must take system match up to a new level. It would be an extreme pleasure to hear how it does as a system.

I guess I don't need to remind you to enjoy yourself, do I?

Regards,
Dan

Hello Arthur, Haven't heard from you in a while. Will your new room house the same setup as in this post? If so, you're most likely building the room with these speakers in mind, so you are looking forward to a nice improvement in sound quality.

Still one of my favorite systems here.

Regards,
Dan

Arthur, I see you have moved on from your Tannoys. If I were to move on as well, it would be for the same reason you did. My heart, and my head, has been pointing that direction for years, but the budget won't allow it.

If the new amps and speakers sound anywhere near as good as they look, you must be on cloud nine!

Congratulations, and regards,
Dan

Arthur, that would be great. Audio enthusiasts are scarce as hens teeth around here. I've lived in the same small town (Oak Harbor, on the north end) of Whidbey Island for 46 years, and never met another like-minded individual in all that time here. So, listening sessions are (aside from just myself in attendance), something highly anticipated, and looked forward to.

You can PM me at audiophildan at yahoo dot com anytime, I am retired, and almost always home.

Dan

Arthur, thanks for the invitation. I haven't been out of state for a while now, (Puget Sound in Washington). I just don't get around much anymore. Hmm, that was a pretty good song,no?

If you're ever in NW Washington State, feel free to come over.

Arthur, you have put together what may be the perfect audio system (at least for me and you, that is). Just top drawer in every respect. Enjoy.

Arthur, as an old Tannoy maven, I know how much you're enjoying your system, and music. Tannoys just play everything so well. What a joy.

Congratulations, regards,

Thank you Arthur, I am enjoying my system and music more now than at any time in the 40+ years I have enjoyed this hobby, although it seems like much more oftentimes. Building much of the componentry was very enjoyable, but now listening is my reward.

Best regards,
Dan

Hello Arthur, what an incredible system! Having custom built components can give a quality that is rarely seen in off-the-rack (or floor, as the case may be). I have put together custom Tannoy HPD 315 drivers in 2" thick enclosures, with custom designed and built outboard crossovers using Mundorf Silver-in-Oil caps, Dueland resistors, and 12 gauge Alpha Core inductors. Solid silver DH Labs hook-up wire connects all the parts. I reconed the drivers with new Hard Edge conversion woofers. The sound is unlike any speakers I have ever heard, so I can imagine what your system sounds like. Unbelieveable, I'm sure! I just obtained a VAC PA 35.35 EL 34 amp, and it sounds magical with these Tannoys. I'd sure like to hear what they would sound like with your amps!

Congratulations on a marvelous system, I wish you many years of enjoyment!

Regards,
Dan
