My primary system- this is what I have been fortunate enough to have put together after being an audio enthusiast now for 50 years now (come a long way from a BSR turntable, Pioneer receiver and no-name house brand hifi shop [Tech HiFi] speakers). The core of this system (amp, preamp, speakers) has remained stable for over 10 years and I am reaping the benefits of that by concentrating on music. I've enjoyed solid state and tubed electronics, and with my Pass gear, tubes no longer call to me. Plus, Pass is a superb company to deal with. There may be better equipment but I no longer care and I don't chase it and nothing at the last audio show I attended (in 2025) called to me that I had to have it- and yes, there was some really wonderful sounding gear.
I tend to keep gear that I like- I've owned my Linn LP12 for 28 years and love it. I am also drawn to vintage classics such as my MR78 tuner and my most recent acquisition (2025) has been my Thorens, purchased from the kids of a friend that passed away. I had the Thorens & SME arm refurbished by STS Turntables, and it too is a wonderful turntable. I also have a Marantz Model 20 tuner which I incorporated into another system.
