Response to Jayctoy: Hi and thanks for your comments. I don't have access to a tube CD player, but I do have a Bel Canto SEP-1 tube pre-amp, which I have tested in my system and it sounds great. I still prefer the KCT's tighter base and high-end extension though. The Krell FPB amp's manual warns about connecting tube equipment. However, the FPB amp works with tube gear if its output is capacitively coupled OR you install the input coupling capacitors in the FPB (a jumper).
Response to Audio Al: Hi Al, thanks for you comments. Yes, the room & corner tunes improve the sound. The obvious tip-off is a significant decrase in the slap echo in the room (this means the sound isn't bouncing around all over the place). I also hear a major improvement in stereo imaging. Image position is more accurate and images are better focused.
