    Michael;

Still peddlin' that Hi-Fi Heroin eh?

That Carbon Source is indeed one damn fine cord. It outperformed everything I threw at it, and I could'nt stand to part with it once I was hooked.

That's why I tried to warn MrFastGuy!

Hey Dan,,, I took some over, hooked him for 4 power cords, including the new Gain cord.

I always find it exiting to see a room's interior that has been done with taste and professionalism.

Especially in the way of proper lighting which may very well be the most overlooked aspect of most any home.

Junkyard rooms are just that. A real eyesore.

    Again, very nicely done, Michael.

I can't tell you the number of people that have asked me,
"Will adding one of your components to my system improve the sound?"
Recently one potential customer wanted to try one of my components assuming that it would improve things. When he told me he had a bad slap echo problem,I just wrote him and telling him to spend the money on taking care of his room first, then come talk.
Thanks for those wonderful and critical comments.

    Michael

Rives: SO true ! I remember a while back, Michael Greene came to a local shop, which had a top end demo room of Rowland electronics and Aerial (sp?) speakers. Having heard the system, even with some room treatment there, I thought: well, these speakers aren't doing too much, and they're not worth the price. I had heard better sounds from cheaper speakers in that same room.

Well, Mr. Greene spent about an hour in that room, and I went to the "seminar" and got to listen again. An absolutely AMAZING turnaround! Just superb sound resulted.

Not only is working on the room important, but this also showed that DIFFERENT treatments can work best with DIFFERENT speakers/systems.

    Good observation.....

I am so glad to see more audiophiles who clearly care as much for the room as they do for the rest of their components. How many systems do we see here that have speakers twice as expensive and not one penny spent on the room? I think it would be fair to say that in most cases, you are getting your money's worth out of your gear, whereas those that do not pay attention to the room, do not. Your system would easily sound twice as good as one that is twice as expensive in an untreated room. Nice job.

Michael, Going on 2 1/2 weeks on the new source cords, they sound great. Let me know when you can make it for another visit. Very nice pictures of your room.

Very good. Yorkshires are much cooler than Dr. Detroit wigs. LOL.

Michael, Wow, Great room and gear. I bet you really enjoy it. I cannot think of a more appealing place to test your R&D. By the way, I have about 85 hours on the gain cords.. I have been digg'n how tonally true Michael A's guitar sounds with them. Excellent PCs.

Yea, I am afraid of that!
I already use one of his older gain cords in my system
    that i am happy with.

Is that a Dr. Detroit wig resting on the back of the sofa?

Very nice system and a great room, Michael. It's always a challenge to make a room aesthetically pleasing and functional at the same time. The lighting is a nice touch, a place I can definitely melt into and disappear into the music, great job!

Mrfastguy, Good to hear from you again. Yes, the Krell cd player just didn't have the detail and richness that the Opus has. I still have the Krell but it is idle at the present. I would love to come over and see where you are on your room. Will bring a Carbon Ribbon Source cord with me.

    Best, Michael

    michaelhwolff

Looks like the CD player is new eh?
The Krell was the weakest link in your system.

I heard this system maybe a year ago or so
before the PS 500 and the Resolution Audio.

This is one of the most dead quiet systems i have ever
heard. This system give a new meaning to the term
    "black background"

When you're ready to take on a new project come over,
my room is done except for sound treatments!

Here is my system, I purchased a PS Audio P300 after
    hearing your P600.

Thanks guys, A good sound and nice asthetics were important since my wife graciously gave me the living room to become my dedicated listening room. To answer your questions so far:
Atagi: The lavendar ones on the side walls and on top of the cabinent are 4" RPG Bad Panels. The ones on the celining are just white 4" high density fiberglass which I put up myself. Yes am running stereo subs and yes the sound treatment was critical for that. That's why I have the ceiling absorption to take care of ceiling to floor standing wave potential.

Chams_uk: On all the components am using the Carbon Ribbon with the exception of the subs where I am still using my older cords simply because the subs are limited frequency, and they seem to do just fine there. Besides, I don't want to have to make new 8 foot cords. :)

Stehno: Thanks, there still is room for component improvement but I am happy for now. By the way all of the lights that you see in the photos can be dimmed individually from a central remote at the listening chair. That makes it really nice in the evening and sets some nice moods. Music is not only physical but emotional as well.

    Best Regards,
    Michael

Hey...what kind of power cords are you using ? :-D

Hats off, very nice looking - and most likely sounding - system. Are you using all carbon cords, or a mix of the silver or silver/carbon as well ?

    chams_uk

    michael,

very nice, visually appealing use of room treatments. i'm sorry but i can't figure out what kind of tratment your using on the front wall? looks like you're running stereo subs. how much did the treatments improve your sound. very, very nice. your attention to detail shows. enjoy!
