Arguably Krell's best sounding preamp with a solid Stereophile A rating.  Analog rules: discrete with fully balanced signal path, no op-amps, IC's or other shortcuts.  2 balanced inputs and balanced output allow for a fully balanced system if your other gear supports it.  Krell sold the KBL with the KPA, a companion phono preamp.  This is not included and any phono preamp will work fine.  Operating voltage set for 120v but can be reset by the user for whatever you want.  Simple, elegant and purposeful.  See specs and other info in the pictures. The KBL will be quite at home in any price-no-object system at the highest of the high end.  MSRP $4500 in 1990.  A contemporary equivalent would be along the lines of the Mark Levinson No.523 (MSRP $18,500).  Please do Google, read the reviews and judge for yourself. 

This is a 1-owner unit used in a smoke-free environment. Excellent condition.  Face plate is perfect.  A few miniscule scratches only visible under the closest inspection.  Power supply recently repaired (a few new diodes and regulators) and recapped using premium capacitors.  Audio board fully recapped as well.  This unit will be good for many, many more years.

Selling because I'm moving to a much smaller space and no room for large separates.  The KBL was matched with a Sonic Frontiers SFD-2 MKIII, Mark Levinson No. 332 and factory rebuilt Magneplanar IIIa's (rebuild said by the factory to better the 3.7's).  At the risk of offending some, I'll just say it:  If you think that sonics have materially improved in the last 25 years you probably haven't listened to something like this.  And the KBL was the heart of this system.
