The graininess has dissipated - just under 20 hours of playing or so....
It never ceases to amaze me how one thing in a system can make such a difference - a fundamental change. Every once in a while, the right piece in the right place and voila, your ears smile and your heart and mind open. 
Many years ago, I got a pair of your interconnects and they didn't do much in my system at the time. With that in mind, I was actually going to have another boutique cable maker build an umbilical for me. I even have the connectors in hand. Some kind of kismet inserted itself, I saw your ad and ordered the cord. Good juju, because it really adds so, SO much of what I like - what I imagine most audiophiles would like. The difference is immediate and obvious. First, there's very extended tight lows and extended highs to a lesser degree, but wonderfully filled in with brisk, not overly crisp leading edges added clarity and precision without etch or sibilance. My soundstage is very much expanded in width and depth and a bit in height and moved a touch forward...sort of like I moved a couple of rows towards the stage. My system is pretty midrange centric already and the added presence is welcome there.  It's really a very satisfying and exciting upgrade that involves my imagination and senses in a way that puts a smile on my face and invites me back to listen again and again. Ain't that what we want?! As my friend says, 'it's right in the pocket'.

"There is no argument as to cables making a difference….at least not in my system. I own the terrific two-chassis Supratek Chardonnay preamp. I bought it used from a member at AC. I have settled on some Raytheon 6ns7 tubes that offer the right balance of clarity with a bit of warmth. Per the Supratek guys at Agon and our AN member Jack, the Revelation Audio Labs umbilical has an excellent reputation for improving the sound of an already excellent preamp. RAL sells the umbilical for $499 - above my comfort level for a 1-meter single cable. Brad uses a cable cooker and puts 75 hours on every cable he sends out. I found that another 25 hours or so additional time to settle in did the trick for me. The very first thing that really jumps out with this cable is the increased clarity. Every other aspect of performance falls in place after that. The increased performance is stunning and so enjoyable. It seems that Supratek designer Mick Maloney isn’t a fan and I can’t imagine why. For starters, it appears his umbilical is unshielded and Brad’s is. It offers such a nice performance increase that I’d think Mick might give it a try and maybe extol it’s virtues. But I won’t argue beyond that because the Supratek is a keeper, regardless of what umbilical is used. It’s likely that Jack and I are the only Supratek owners on AN, but this was worth mentioning nonetheless. Brad makes other specialty cables as well and is great to deal with." - N.B.

Audio frequency vibrations induced into the cable may create a state of microphony and transduce physical resonance into electrical resonance, polluting the audio stream.
